Today I received my  BabbaBox  in the mail.  For those of you unfamiliar with this incredibly cool product let this post be an introduction.  The BabbaBox is a mom-founded company that delivers monthly themed activities filled with unique ways of engaging young children in new subject matter through crafts, science, stories and downloads.

The theme of our box was the Sun, Stars and Moon and included a host of items (pictured below but much larger in person) including binoculars and a moon cycle calendar so your budding astronomer can track the different stages of the moon during the month, a DIY paper-mache night light, a sweet story about Twinkle the star and a sun paper kit to make your own constellations.  Plus, with every box parents get a gift too!  Our box came with a wine stopper with nothing less than, a star top!

While taking a break from holiday decorating my 5 year old daughter and I used the BabbaBox sun paper kit to create various constellations.  I loved that each activity in the BabbaBox comes with easy to understand, step by step instructions for mom and dad.  The kit came with several coloring activities and a kid-friendly sample of constellations for kids to use in creating this project.  My daughter really liked having this kid friendly guide to the constellations!

First, using the star stickers that came with the kit, my daughter created constellations on the blue sun paper.  The guide is shown below as well as the fool proof parent instructions.

Next, we moved our sun paper into our doorway to get full sun for about 5 minutes.

The fun part was submerging our now faded sun paper into water for about a minute and carefully pulling the star stickers off.

Lastly, we let the paper dry and put the finished product in the frame provided in the kit.  The actually hands-on time was about 20 minutes and easy enough for my 5 year old to accomplish with minimal assistance.  I did pull out the Kindle to provide additional images of constellations which added to this fun enrichment activity. The rest of the afternoon was spent coloring all of the bonus materials including in the sun paper kit!

The BabbaBox provides everything you need for fun, educational activities to keep little ones entertained and interested in new subject matter.  I really appreciated the variation in activities included in the box and love that we still have more activities for next weekend to keep her learning about this fun new topic!  BabbaBox has figured out how to make learning fun with high quality products that are organized in a way so parents spend more time with their children and less time figuring out the mechanics of each activity!
