To celebrate Mother’s Day, Albany Kid Family Travel, Saratoga Mama, and Albany Aqua Ducks are planning a very special event – and we want you to join us!
We are very pleased to announce an invitation-only Mother-Daughter American Girl Garden Tour on May 8, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in Albany, NY. Rescheduled to May 15, 2012 – rain or shine!
The American Girl Garden Tour
Customized to reflect the unique history of an American Girl doll, the American Girl Garden Tour is tailored to the girls and dolls present on the trolley tour of downtown Albany.
A group touring with Addy Walker, the African-American doll from the Civil War era, might focus on Albany’s role in the Underground Railroad; while those bringing Kit Kittredge, the Great Depression era doll, might learn about Eleanor Roosevelt and other powerful women from New York State who helped shape our nation.
Along the way, the group will stop to visit beautiful public gardens – including the Moses Statue in Washington Park and Ten Broeck Mansion. And they will enjoy light refreshments at a tea party – with their doll!
Albany Aqua Duck Tours
If you haven’t been on an Albany Aqua Duck tour lately, you are in for a surprise. The popular amphibious vehicle has been joined by a trolley, and a number of fun new events and theme tours have been added to longtime favorites such as the Pirate Adventure Tour. Some of the newest theme tours include:
- Rediscovering our Roots: The Irish Impact in Albany, NY
- The Albany Sweets Tasting Tour
- Meet the Heroes in Albany — our firefighters, police and military.
- Go behind the scenes of the Capital Rep, and the Times Union Center on a A Day at the Theater.
- Step into the shoes of the early Dutch elite to tour Albany’s Mansions.
