A dusting of snow – finally! – has all the skiers itching to hit the slopes. And now, with The NY 4th Grade Ski & Ride Program, there’s an added incentive for families to hit the slopes – kids ski free!
Here’s how the 4th Grade Ski & Ride Passport Program works:
- Any 4th Grade Student (even if they’re NOT from NY) can ski or ride at MOST ski resorts in New York this winter (when accompanied by a paying adult.)
- If your child has never skied before, they can sign up for the Learn to Ski or Snowboard package which contains one free learn to ski or snowboard package for the child and coupons for a 20% discount on a future visit for the 4th grader and a discount for their adult.
- To sign up, you will need $20 and proof of being in 4th Grade, consisting of a last quarter 3rd grade report card or first quarter 4th Grade Report Card, progress report or even a copy of the birth certificate.
- Passport applications will be accepted through March 1, 2012 so you have plenty of time.

Wow, this is awesome, especially since I have a 4th grader! I’d never heard of this, so I’m already mentally making a list of folks to tell–our gym teacher, M’s teacher, the Capital District Fun readers. . . I’ll be linking over soon, I’m sure. Thanks!
