1,2,3 Chipotles In The Capital Region

by

chipotle2 I know I probably shouldn’t get so excited about the grand opening of the third location of a chain restaurant, but it’s Chipotle.

We fell in love with the fresh and flavorful Chipolte burritos this summer on a road trip across the USA, but found that it wasn’t a great choice for travel eating.  The burritos are so humongous that you really need to be able to bring them home to consume over several mealtimes.

Today, we took advantage of the Grand Opening of a Chipotle in Clifton Park to score four FREE burritos and drinks.  We’ve got lunch, dinner, and possibly breakfast in the bag.

Usually, we get the soft shell steak tacos for the kid, but it was 100% FREE BURRITOS today.  Turns out that he likes these just as much as the chipotletacos, as long as we include sour cream to balance the spicy flavor.  I’ll get him the tacos next time, and maybe I’ll finally sample the burrito bowl.  Yeah, and I’ll place the order with my new Chipotle iPhone app.  If only I could get a horchata with that, I’d be ecstatic.

No, I’m happy.  We’ve got Chipotle in the Capital Region, and there’s a good chance we’ll have a Trader Joe’s by the end of the year.  Now, if we could just get a Noodles & Company,  I’d never complain again.
