Is your child’s car seat safe? Get a car seat safety check!

Did you know that “3 out of 4 kids are not as secure in the car as they should be because their car seats are not being used correctly?” (NHTSA)

I can well imagine that’s true. No matter how carefully you read the manual (and often it’s unintelligible in any language,) you’re never certain if you’ve done it right. Luckily, you don’t have to guess about your child’s safety.

Child Passenger Safety Week concludes with National Seat Check Saturday on September 24, where community events nationwide will have Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians available to provide hands-on car seat inspections and advice — for free!

Use the Child Car Seat Inspection Station locator to find a center near you; I found 28 stations in and near Albany, NY, but this is a nationwide event. You can drop by a seat check station wherever you may be this weekend, and if you miss it, check back for listings throughout the year.
