chocolate_fondueChocolate, most people love it and can’t live without it. And those who aren’t so passionate about it (like my husband!) know someone who can’t get enough of the sweet indulgence.

For all the chocolate lovers in the Capital Region, and those who love them, here is your chance to win tickets to a dream come true:

Today only, win a Family 4-Pack, valued at $20, that includes admission for any four people to the 7th Annual Northeast Family Chocolate Festival on Saturday, April 9th, 10AM-4PM, at the Washington Avenue Armory & Sports Arena.

  • 10AM – Sylvia & the Magic Trunk, world-renowned ventriloquist.
  • 11AM – The Incredible Larry, comic juggling.
  • 12-3PM – Jodie Fitz, host of Price Chopper’s Kids Cooking Club, will demonstrate how to make Mini MudPie Parfaits.
  • 12:30PM – The Mother Goose Jazz Band’s creative nursery rhymes bring the music of Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, & other jazz greats to a whole new generation.
  • 3 PM – Empire State Youth Orchestra’s Percussion Ensembles will set toes tapping with their rhythmic beat.

Well, I personally like white chocolate, but I just won the tomatoes! 😀 I am sending this one along to some friends, to see if they will come up this weekend 😉

Julie Gallo April 5, 2011 at 3:31 pm

Our family LOVES dark chocolate. Taste great and is good for you!

toyfoto April 5, 2011 at 3:41 pm

Did you see the piece on NPR today about some of Shirley MacLaine’s musings from her new book?

“Dark chocolate is good for the pancreas and milk chocolate is good for something else I can’t remember, but I don’t like it much anyway.”

My mind wanders would be similar, only they’d include “and white chocolate isn’t really chocolate.”

Sandra Foyt April 5, 2011 at 3:50 pm

Toyfoto – Those are fighting words! LOL! All the sophisticated folks claim to prefer dark chocolate, but I’m a white chocolate lover.

Jen Smith April 5, 2011 at 4:42 pm

mmmm, chocolate!

Lisa April 5, 2011 at 4:42 pm

I love classic milk chocolate..,,yum! 🙂

BuckleMyShoeMama April 5, 2011 at 6:17 pm

I love them all, but if I had to pick one, I guess I’d go down the middle and choose milk.

MilK chocolate!! and any other kind of candy!

Tammy April 5, 2011 at 7:28 pm

Milk chocolate!! Yummy

Sandra Foyt April 5, 2011 at 7:37 pm

Daniel B. of FUSSYlittleBLOG stirs up the pot:

“I still say white chocolate is a lie. Cocoa butter isn’t what makes chocolate, it’s the chocolate liqueur. When you have good chocolate, why adulterate it with milk? Dark chocolate all the way.

Ooh, and single origin chocolates are also a lot of fun.”

toyfoto April 5, 2011 at 7:59 pm

Ah but dark chocolate with sea salt is two things: 1. Delicious and 2. Not going to be stolen by children.

Linda Jones April 5, 2011 at 8:17 pm

I am a chocaholic and of course I want to something that is all about chocolate.

Sandra Foyt April 5, 2011 at 8:28 pm

Toyfoto- You are brilliant. I too have been known to purchase chocolate with mint, knowing that the Chocolate Fanatic abhors the stuff. And now, I’ve found a whole new world to explore:

Brb April 5, 2011 at 9:23 pm

Pure, unadulterated dark chocolate (unless it’s at the center of a truffle, in which case, mixed with cream is perfect).

Marianne Russell April 5, 2011 at 9:47 pm

Ghirardelli chocolate, dark or milk or white, enjoyed all by itself, or, melted and wrapped around a deliciously sweet strawberry! Pure heaven!

Sandra Foyt April 6, 2011 at 7:11 am

From Sarah H: I am interested. Dark chocolate! Yum…

Lisa April 6, 2011 at 7:19 am

Biffy Cahill April 6, 2011 at 7:28 am

Milk chocolate truffles – Mmmmm…. love the hard exterior giving way to the soft delectable interior.

Heather Wallace April 6, 2011 at 7:40 am

mmmmmm…milk chocolate all the way! (But I admit that I would eat any kind placed in front of me!) 😉

margo April 6, 2011 at 7:52 am

Wonder what they will have that features Nutella? I confess that’s my latest indulgence!

Colleen April 6, 2011 at 7:58 am

Me and my boys love mill chocolate!

Kristen April 6, 2011 at 8:19 am

We’re all in for milk chocolate! Sounds like a great event!

Biffy Cahill April 6, 2011 at 9:06 am
