Colonie Center Welcomes the Easter Bunny and Journey Through the Mind

The Easter Bunny arrived in the Capital Region on Friday; sadly, I wasn’t there to greet him. I’m a huge admirer of the generous creature who deposits Cadbury eggs and marshmallow peeps on our doorstep every Easter Sunday, but alas! a previously scheduled road trip kept me from meeting him at Colonie Center.

Our young friend, Dylan, was there to do the honors, and his mom has generously shared their pictures from the event. Not only did they meet the Easter Bunny, they also explored the annual Journey Though The Body exhibit, a free health education service provided by St. Peter’s Health Care Services and NewsChannel 13.

Here is the Easter Bunny, accompanied by another object of our affection, the Cupcake Lady from Bettie’s Cupcake.

Dylan followed the cupcake trail to its fragrant display.

As if that wasn’t enough joy and excitement for one day, Dylan also got to appear on television due to his scientific explorations at the Journey Through The Body exhibit.

Dylan picked brains with News Channel 13’s Bob Kovachick.

And stormed a Giant Ear guarded by Anchor and Health Reporter, Benita Zahn.

From all reports, spring has arrived to great fanfare in the Capital Region. The Easter Bunny was well pleased with this reception, and plans to add extra jelly beans to every basket.

Thank you, Dylan, for this on the spot reporting!

I’m so glad you got the correct weatherman’s name – I asked those around me if it was Ernie and they all said “yes”. After watching tv last night I realized I should not have said, “Thanks, Ernie.” oops.

Oh, that’s funny! Maybe he thought it was an endearment?

We went on Saturday. I know that TechyDad will be blogging about it soon. I took some time to wander away and shop while they played in the crowded space.
