Nothing lights up a place like a child’s joy, a treasure that’s not hard to find in family-friendly Barcelona, Spain. This supremely walkable city boasts many playgrounds, but even the quietest of street corners is soon transformed into a play place with the addition of a few simple ingredients.
When I was digging through my travel photos from my recent trip to Spain’s Costa Brava region, I looked for a photo that I think captures daily life. I love this photo because it not only shows a thoroughly entranced child, it also includes passer-byes going about their normal routine amidst the narrow streets of medieval Barcelona.
