Join the Drum Circle and Stay for the Keller Plays for Kids Show (Family Four-Pack Giveaway!)

keller-kids-showSome folks argue that there is more to a drum circle than just the beat, “A drumming circle induces harmony, euphoria and rhythm to the chaos of today’s life,” says Stacey.

I don’t know about that, but you can find out for yourself when Ken Crampton & Everybody Drum open the Keller Plays for Kids Show  at The Egg on October 8th with an interactive drum circle. (Doors open at 2:30 pm for the drum circle, and the concert begins at 3:30pm.)

This event promises to be a fun thing to do with kids, even with babies; but it might just be the best night out for the parents (that you can have without a babysitter.)

That was our first time to a Keller Williams kids’ concert, and we had a blast! He was very entertaining, from playing country music with his guitar to rapping (yes, I said rapping). We saw kids of all ages at the concert, from babies hanging out in their parents’ baby carriers to elementary school-age kids.

keller-kids-cdInspired by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman’s Not for Kids Only (a favorite in our home, still,) the idea behind Keller’s sixteenth album, Kids, “was just to connect with children while letting the parents connect on the kids’ level as a peer instead of talking down to them – while at the same time having the parents be able to nod their heads along.” (Williams, Boston Music Spotlight)

Keller’s Kids Show

keller-becauseEven with this video, I’m not sure what you can expect. Keller just came off tour with Yo Gaba Gaba and a Kidsapoolaza performance, and now he’s not only showcasing his new album for kids, but he will also read and sign copies of a children’s book that he wrote recently, Because I Said So.

I’m told that the “quirky” artist is known for “flying by the seat of his pants onstage.” Interpret that as you will. There may be confetti and balloons involved.

My favorite Keller song….that’s easy! Mama Tooted. Even when my kids sing it in the middle of a store I have enough sense of humor to find it pretty darn funny.

I’m glad you did this contest. This site is so nice and I never knew about it. I always relied on Cocotodo but that doesn’t really look to far ahead.
