Autumn In Albany Brings the Snowfall Happy Dance

Autumn in the Capital Region brings a number of chores: putting away the deck cushions, winterizing the lawnmower (not sure if this actually gets done in our home, but it’s on the list), cleaning the gutters (not my finest hour!,) and stacking the firewood. Not infrequently, it’s a race to finish the autumn chores before the first snowfall of the season.

This year, the firewood was delivered just in time.

My husband spent all of Sunday morning getting it stacked, and the rest of the day complaining about his aching back.

Sunday evening he fell asleep lying on the floor in front of a crackling fire in the woodstove.

It’s a good thing that he finished stacking the wood because the next morning, Albany saw the first snowfall of the season. At first, it was just a light sprinkle of snowflakes.

Before long, we had a significant accumulation of snow on the ground.

And Yoohoo and I were doing the Snowfall Happy Dance!

I would be doing the happy dance if the ice pellets had stayed away. The boys are antsy to go outside, but I can not find boos for them. Not even sure we have ones that fit them now. Ooops!

Fortunately, it wasn’t too deep. I went out in sneakers, and Alex put on his rain boots. We’ll have to go boot shopping tomorrow!

I saw the name of this blog post – Autumn In Albany Brings the Snowfall Happy Dance | Albany Kid – while I was Googling on the web a minute ago. Can if I put a link to http://albanykid.com/2010/11/08/autumn-in-albany-brings-the-snowfall-happy-dance/ on my website?
