Our Room In The Middle of Manhattan – #BlogHer10

For three cram-packed days I get to live in Manhattan with my daughter. The last time we lived in the city together, our apartment was so tiny that, at full term, I had to stop cooking because I couldn’t squeeze my belly into the micro kitchen. That’s the reason I let my husband take over all the meals for the next fourteen years.

Space in Manhattan apartments are always at a premium, and it’s no different in the hotels. We practically have to walk sideways in our Sheraton room, but it’s so cunningly configured that all the essentials fit in perfectly. And who is going to be spending any time in the rooms anyway?

I’m here to attend the biggest, most amazing, conference of the year where mommy bloggers come together to meet, greet, laugh, and party till you drop. My teen accompanied me so that she can be free to roam the city while I’m fully distracted with new friends.

Our room is perfectly situated for both our purposes. I’m next door to the Hilton where Blogher 2010 takes place. My daughter is delighted because the hotel is situated smack in the center of the city so that she can easily walk downtown one day, and uptown the next.

Since we’re only on the 20th floor, our view is obstructed by all the tall building that surround us. But, I took it as a good omen of fun times to come when I looked out and saw a child swinging on a balcony garden. Here we go, wheeeeeee!
