Mrs. London’s Is A Special Treat

mrs.londons2 My birthday weekend has arrived with an Arctic blast, but I don’t mind.  The cold outside is a good excuse to warm up with hot cocoa and a treat at Mrs. London’s in Saratoga Springs.

We don’t frequent the cafe too often, it’s a bit rich for everyday consumption, but it’s perfect for a special occasion.  The deserts taste as luscious as they look, and you could almost drink the hot chocolate with a spoon, it’s that thick.

mrs.londonsToday, we dropped in for a hot drink and to pick up my birthday cake (actually, three mini cakes,) but we were in a bit of a hurry and didn’t stay long.

That’s too bad, because a meal at Mrs. London’s is quite the experience.  The restaurant is small, but lovely, dripping with patterned wallpaper, chandeliers, and French Atmosphere.  And, the tight quarters ensure that you’ll overhear the surrounding conversations, although you might not comprehend what’s being said unless you speak French.

We don’t lunch at Mrs. London’s too often, but when we do, we have our favorites:

  • Mom – French Mozzarella and Latte
  • Son – Croque Monsier and Hot Chocolate
  • Teen Daughter – Croissant and Jasmine Tea

Any occasion is a special occasion at Mrs. London’s. Just saying.

I concur. Mrs. London’s is not only a special treat, but it’s a regional treasure. My favorites are the classics – a plain croissant or a cream scone. Some of the best that I have had anywhere.

And I am not one to gush.
